Addie McCain transferred from Fort Lauderdale to Lexington in “record deal”
Lexington just can’t stop spending…
After a run to the finals of the USL Super League, Fort Lauderdale United has sold one of its signature players within the division. The move is described as a “record transfer” within the Gainbridge USL Super League. However, despite being called a “record” financial details were not disclosed.
McCain’s transfer to Lexington, a club that has been free-spending on the men’s side indicates the Kentucky-based side plans to do the same for its women’s team after a disappointing inaugural USL S campaign last season.
“Record transfer”.
USL, please stop taking a leak on my leg and telling me that it’s raining.
The league just launched. It could have been $1000 and the player being willing to go to a less successful team and negotiating a higher wage to offset taxes and netting an additional $5k salary a year.
Which is nothing to ridicule at this level. I hope that she got some more coin. I assume that she did.
I’m not mad. Great for the player and the two clubs. I just have very little patience sometimes for the United Real Estate Soccer League press release foolishness.
Heard a well-sourced rumor Lexington has the highest spend in USL C. Seems crazy with Sacramento, LouCity and Charleston spending so much!
Is this true?
