I want to thank all our readers and those of you who have communicated with me personally about my latest professional endeavor- as the Editor-at-Large of the Boca Raton Tribune.
The news was made official Monday and I started in the new role that day.
For me local news is facing an existential crisis as local papers and TV stations are gobbled up by private equity and hedge funds while social media drives people toward focusing on polarizing national and international issues rather than what is going on in their local communities.
Locally-based and reported news, just like supporting community soccer clubs, buying locally-sourced produce, or getting involved in local charities brings us closer together while in my opinion, the proliferation of polarization thanks to social media pulls us further apart (and keeps us from interacting in person as well).
My new role as stated last will not impact Beyond the 90’ in any manner.
Good luck with new endiver.
Social media has been mostly a disaster for the country.
Now with the development of AI without any idea of its impact, will turn this mess into a disaster!
All kind a garbage will pass for the truth.
That’s fantastic news well done Kartik
