Introducing Our New Beyond the 90' Writers! We're ramping up NISA and USL coverage
Here’s all of our new additions to the Beyond the 90 family.
Over the last several days, we at Beyond the 90’ have substantially increased our team of writers, hoping to better cover all grounds in USL and NISA from across the country. Our goal is to be a one-stop shop for analytical domestic lower division soccer content.
This has also allowed us to deliver readers daily short and long-form articles. We’ve got some incredible content coming out in the next few weeks, so let’s introduce the new writers making the incredible content possible.
League One Updater:
Alex Ashton of the famous League One Updater will be phasing the content from his website and moving it permanently to BT90. He is an extremely skilled and knowledgeable writer who will add content covering all things related to USL League One. He is also becoming our Richmond Kickers correspondent.
NISA Today FC:
NISA Today has been run by Joshua Taylor, NISA’s broadcast production supervisor, since September 2019. He will bring deep analysis of the entire NISA league through both his podcast and articles.
The USL Way:
Ben Zimmermann of the USL Way will cover stories from all across the USL Championship with power rankings, game breakdowns, and more. He’ll also get into other content covering Europe.
LinnersWosers Partnership:
Our partnership with the soccer news group found on X (Twitter) means that 3 writers, Nick, Alex, and Tim, will cover the Northern Colorado Hailstorm/Rain, Colorado Springs Switchbacks, and Union Omaha, respectively. Union Omaha will have a weekly piece of coverage, while the Colorado sides will have more frequent content.
Jon Hunt:
The President of the Railbirds Supporters Group of USL1’s Lexington SC has agreed to become the Lexington SC correspondent for the site! Expect match reviews, deep analysis, and coverage of both the men’s and women’s teams!
Jackson Popkin:
Jackson Popkin works with me (Calum) at Scarves and Spikes, is a great writer, and is also the most dedicated South Georgia Tormenta fan I know. That’s why he is our new Tormenta correspondent! He’ll be providing a weekly recap of the team and the latest news surrounding them.
Joseph Torviso:
Joseph Torviso who has written extensively on Inter Miami CF for ESPN Gainesville, will join us to cover subjects related to Florida soccer including our Miami FC newsletter, The Kingfisher and The Florida Soccer Report where USL League Two is likely to be his focus. He’ll also keep an eye on the Euros for us this summer. After, August he will cover the Tampa Bay Sun and Fort Lauderdale United on the women’s side as well.
Graham Anderson:
Graham Anderson will be covering Michigan-area soccer for us, focusing on Detroit City FC and USL League Two. He will also keep an eye on the Euros for us this summer as well as transfers.
Brett Mullenix:
Mr. Mullenix, a contributor with The USL Show, is the new Indy Eleven correspondent for the site! He’ll be helping to cover both the team’s in-season performance and their current off-field situation (MLS expansion threat).
Rooster and the Villain:
Michael Steenstra will bring his excellent coverage of the Maryland Bobcats FC to Beyond the 90’. Maryland are a NISA club that has had unique success developing and moving on players so following them is a must if you’re interested in player transfers and the upward mobility of young guys domestically.
Additional News:
Beyond the 90’ will be covering the Gulf Coast Premier League (GCPL) more closely this season. In addition, we’re working on bringing even more team and league specific writers onto the site.
Thanks for your continued support of Beyond the 90’. We’re going to make sure at least 95% our content remains free but if you want to help us out with expenses or appreciate what we’re doing consider becoming a paid subscriber!
What a great roster! Looking forward to seeing what we build here.
I mentioned it yesterday, but I’m really happy to see the expanded USL coverage. Looking forward to seeing what everyone puts together!
