My quick reaction to the Pochettino to Chelsea news-
I don’t give two ***** that Mauricio Pochettino “failed” at PSG. I really don’t. I absolutely love the man as a manager and philosopher of football. He is currently the best South American Manager out there in my opinion, taking after the great Marcelo Bielsa.
Managers like Poch weren’t meant for high-priced individualistic players or Directors of Football who think they are all-knowing.
They are meant to make young footballers better, average footballers good and good footballers, elite. They were meant to mold squads into a DNA-based football. They were meant to create a comprehensive style of play that can be taught from the first team down to the youth setup.
Few managers in football are better at identifying young talent, and molding them appropriately than Poch. And with Chelsea filled with highly-touted youngsters without a real plan to develop them or mold them into a system it’s time for a maestro to get to work.
