We have played over three months of MLS matches in the 2023 season and have seen some great games, coaching, and front-office changes from several teams. We will soon be ready for a stoppage of league play in mid-July as the Leagues Cup will become an official tournament in the calendar of both, American & Mexican soccer yet this interruption will be the biggest annoyance for all who believe this is a waste of time.

We are seeing a Professional league trying to multi-task into becoming three different entities they shouldn't be involved in. There is no doubt that Major League Soccer is the top-flight division of American Soccer in this country, but for them to run their league, US Soccer & CONCACAF is a no, and sadly no one is stopping them.

Once CONCACAF President Victor Montagliani saw the writing on the wall, being forced to allow three spots to the Leagues Cup toward the brand new format of the CONCACAF Champions League, that's when everything got pushed back or threw the biggest wrench in the American Soccer Calendar.
