NPSL has merged the ailing Sunshine Conference into the Gulf Coast Conference, creating a sprawling division stretching from New Orleans to Miami.
The Gulf Coast Conference has lost two teams to the Gulf Coast Premier League but picks up a new team in Columbus, Georgia, one we have particularly high hopes for. As for the Sunshine Conference, it was the least competitive conference from a level of play in either NPSL or USL League Two last season so while it’s sad to see it gone, it’s also better for the players involved to get more competitive games against former Gulf Coast Conference teams .
My understanding is the scheduling for the division will be done in a way to minimize long trips. Stay tuned on that.
I know AFC Mohile went back to GCPL, but who else is going?
