Rowdies roster for 2025 will look different
Lots and lots of changes coming
Coming off of a season disrupted by two hurricanes and lots of untimely injuries, the Tampa Bay Rowdies are retooling.
We will have much more in the near future on the Rowdies changing direction in terms of roster construction, and priorities throughout this off-season but first let’s talk about who will not be returning next season.
Last week it was announced goalkeeper Jordan Farr was being transferred to DC United of MLS.
now we have clarification or I should say confirmation of other players who will not be returning next season many of which we already knew about.
Looking at the list of players being released by the Rowdies a few points come up.
1- High salaries (Jennings, PĂ©rez and Doherty).
2- Subpar play from a rather poor backline (Munjoma, Kleeman).
3- Maybe can get better players in the same reserve position (Breno, Bubb).
4- Loanees (Rivera, Bender).
As of now the Rowdies are holding over only eleven players for next season:
Defenders: Aaron Guillen
Midfielders: Blake Bodily, Danny Crisostomo, Leo Fernandes, Lewis Hilton, Nick Moon, Pacifique Niyongabire, Nate Worth
Forwards: Manuel Arteaga, Endri Mustali. Cristian Ortiz
Two of the holdovers are recent academy products in addition to US Youth International Nate Worth who was acquired this past season from Tulsa. Two other holdovers are elite veterans at this level in Fernandes and Hilton.
As noted above we will have much more on the Rowdies roster build and transformation during the course of the offseason at BT90. A lot of moving parts here that we will report on as we get more confirmation as to what is happening behind-the-scenes.
"1- High salaries (Jennings, PĂ©rez and Doherty)."
Interesting! @Kartik: what can you tell us about where they will be headed, or how much were their salaries? Were the trio outliers in the USL pay scale, in the $100,000 or above range?
