The unfortunate injury in the FIFA World Cup to Lucas Hernandez which may have cost France the title, also puts a big chink in Bayern Munch’s armor. Hernandez can play left-back or centreback and has often been forced to play on the left due to the seemingly constant injuries and illness to Alphonso Davies. Still it was a bit of a shock to see Daley Blind move to Bayern on a short-term deal, given Blind is 32 and has only signed a six month deal.

Blind should slot in seamlessly - a versatile and intelligent player, he can even slot into midfield if needed, but Bayern who in my opinion have one the best midfields in the world, if not the best when Joshua Kimmich slots into a role as a number six, just need Blind on the backline.

Blind’s combination of smart positional play and passing ability have always made him valuable in sides that keep the ball.
