First time checking out Elimination Charts at the link --wow! What a beautiful labor of love! It must be almost a full time job to maintain it through the frenetic summer season!
BTW, it's shocking to see that the Annapolis Blues are on the verge of being eliminated --despite attracting 10K or more fans per game! Michael Hitchcock needs to redistribute some of the profits from the tidal ticket and merch sales to sign better players ASAP!
Thank you! It's certinally a labor of some kind updating it during the season. Espically since I also do USLW and WPSL on a women's Google Sheets.
As for Annapolis, yeah, this season has to be a little disapointing. They do still have 5 games to play so they aren't quite on the verge of elimination, but 5 games in 12 days, that's tough. Now 5-ish games in 10 days due to their game tonight being called off after 37 minutes due to weather. It's a mountain for them to climb in a week and half to get into the playoffs. Will be one for the aegs if they can do it.
Hitch should launch them into USL League One as the community and club so richly deserves.... If the Blues can pull 10K fans per game during summer, pulling 5K fans per game during the USL1 season should be easy! Just think of the rivalry between the Blues and the Richmond Kickers --would be electric --like the Battle of Bull Run (almost) all over again!
The issue is where are they going to play. Navy Memorial is great right now, but if Annapolis Blues moved up, they'd almost certainly have time find another place to play. Same issue is involved in most of Hitchcocks teams.
You would think with all the waterfront mansions and yachts in the Annapolis area, there is enough wealth to cobble together an influential and well-resourced ownership group to make that all happen? I mean, the Blues could even unite with the Maryland Bobcats ownership group?
