One question I do have with P/R in the US. Do you think the likes of USL2 will adopt any form of P/R, specifically internally? So not including a jump from L2 to L1. I personally don't really see it happening, and would rather it not. But I can also see the arguement for it in certain regions.
I doubt it, although I could see two different divisions based on capability to run a longer season and those that just want a short two/three- month season
That could be interesting. I know people want USL2 to start to go away from the colligate summer league model and more towards to APSL/Semi-Pro model. I wonder how many teams would actually be okay with making the switch.
That could easily happen. These deals where youth clubs are merging with pro clubs etc are where people want/need a pre-built infrastructure. UPSL is the most established "year-round" pre-built infrastructure. The way that Chattanooga FC is approaching it is ideal, imo. Having Summer pre-professional programs is great. But it should be equally important to have a place to give minutes to first team players.
I agree. More teams should team up with them. I think in USL only Detroit City has a second team playing there and maybe Lexington still. I am not sure with Lexington. Ok looking at the page right now: Detroit City II, Lexington SC, plus North Carolina Academy, Utah Red Wolves, Hartford Athletic II, Project 510 and San Antonio FC Academy from USL Pro teams not including USL2 teams.
Some of this is in motion in Birmingham. The local youth club that's closely affiliated with Legion just had two teams play in the USLA tournament branded as Legion teams for the first time.

I know I do lol USL needs to put the Bellevue university sponsorship to work that they have.
I like to think that this is an opportunity for UPSL to get a closer relationship with USL
but will they or will they eventually team up with MLS?

That's a good start.
