Does the Coupe de France do something where the lower division club always hosts? Perhaps the lower division club should get to choose whether they play home or away. If away, maybe they get a percentage of the gate/concessions too.
I'm not sure about that, but I will say this. I think adding the blind draw in the regions would be great. I think it would be nice for the lower level sides to always host until they get eliminated, but we shall see if it can happen here.
Coupe de France has a lot of rounds. I counted 14 of them. I'm not kidding.
England has four professional divisions for a reason. They have the players. A fourth division “professional” league in the US would be worse than NCAA soccer.
My error. But the only thing is this. US Soccer needs to find its spine and tell MLS that all 27 American teams must be involved with the Open Cup. This so called fan fatigue they claim is another smoke screen from them.
At the end of the day, the final eight teams standing are MLS teams, so I don’t see why one would be so bothered about how many teams they start with. It’s hardly the biggest issue in advancing the game in this country. I think it’s just an excuse for someone who already hates MLS for some weird reason to continue to hate MLS.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! That's where you are wrong, sir. I don't hate MLS. I cover the New York Red Bulls of MLS, and I started as a fan of MLS when the Red Bulls were the NY/NJ MetroStars. I support all levels of soccer. I want what's right.
The only thing I hate is what MLS Commishioner Don Garber has done with MLS. trying to neuter the Federation, but sadly, it's going to remain that way unless someone actually stands up and tells him enough. No more interfering with US Soccer Business, and all 27 American MLS clubs participate in the US Open Cup, like every other country's Football Associations.

LOL. Oh I know, that's why I mentioned that Cup specifically.

So you want multiple leagues in the same professional division? That's worse than what you are suggesting.
Don't know where you got that idea. The format now works pretty well. 1 D1, 1 D2, 2 D3, then amateur soccer.
