I think immigration and travel into the US is already a very big concern if Juliette is hearing what she's hearing now.

Travel is significantly down and I expect it to be significantly worse in 26, even if the US hosts games.

If I was a foreign club coming in I would demand guarantees about freedom of travel and for the promoter to cover all costs to ensure guarantees before even stepping foot here.

I mean when naturalized citizens are being told not to leave the states we should all be worried.

We better hope for the art of the blink to hit hard and in a hurry.

Ugly Gator shirt

On Trump he’s got no ideology and no idea what damage he’s doing any sort of industries. He definitely isn’t a conservative. A conservative would embrace free trade, foreign investment and competition in the market.

Didn't you just get done telling us with Billy Corben how Miami took taxpayer money for a Metro extension to the stadium and the politicians pocketed it? So the transit thing could have been avoided.

Kansas City you forgot, another place with ZERO mass transit to speak of. Yet Chicago with the second best system in the country was skipped over.

On tariffs the impacts are obvious. And all bad.

Nice whataboutism talking about the dollar stimulating foreign tours from clubs. That is extremely niche of a concern compared to foreign investment drying up and immigration hold ups with players being signed.

I personally know a pro club owner who supported and voted for Trump and now claims this is not he voted for.

He is nervous.

He didn’t do this in his first term which is why it’s so confusing now but all the points you make in this video are similar to what I’ve been hearing .

The market is plunging people are holding money and in general are getting very nervous.

Some of us knew better, but to those who didn’t, I’m sorry . This isn’t what anyone expected.

"This isn't what anyone expected", why not, the guy ran as a jerk and has had a fixation about tariffs. Now with no one but yes-people around him there is nobody to stop the truly stupid ideas the jerk put forward.

To get to soccer, a boycott is possible because his actions could put the whole world into a depression. and embolden all other authoritarians.

He’s been an extremist on tariffs since the 1980s. I know that and never would consider voting for him but somehow to me it’s still a shock how far he’s gone with this. It’s scary how economically illiterate he is when it comes to Macroeconomic stuff. His companies were all basically family/localized businesses.

yes exactly right Robert. The people who thought that he wouldn’t do terrorist because he didn’t do it the first time didn’t realise he had competent people around him the first time and now has filled this administration with psychopaths and yes men.

it is amusing to hear Kartik say that some investors told him Harris was a socialist because I heard that too from people in the USL ecosystem and those very same now are so hostile to Trump because of the tariffs. Sometimes you get what you vote for and sometimes you need to take your medicine when you mess up. This whole country is getting a dose of that now. I respect Kartik for wanting to avoid the political conversation it really isn’t something we need on here but this was unavoidable as he said this topic because we are in such a bad place now with our game thanks to all of this.

Just because you are "rich" doesn't mean you can't be be "stupid". Realizing and accepting one's own error (and stupidity) --as the pro club owner mentioned above-- is a step towards healing & enlightenment and perhaps greater empathy. This may be his first ever experience with betrayal and pain in his entire privileged life! Long after Trump has been put away, let's hope that the memory of this suffering spurs him to greater empathy towards the less privileged....
