Is there any chance the Bobcats will eventually migrate to USL League One or Championship? You are right regarding the fabulous Maryland Soccerplex. There is an immense pool of Maryland soccer talent, as well as financial and political power that should sustain a durable, thriving Pro Soccer side and afford the franchise fees and Soccer Specific Stadium requirements that guarantee sustainable success!

I'd say there's definitely a possibility of that. Personally, I think NISA is the right spot for them at the moment as they build up their fan base and front office. It seems like they'd definitely need to find a financial backer that believes in the project for them to make that jump.

I'd also have to read more about the territory rights with Loudoun close by. There's also been rumors of a Baltimore USL squad floating around for years, although I haven't heard much on that front lately either. I'd also have to think that USL is salivating at the thought of bringing Annapolis' fan base in to the fold too but it seems like Hitch isn't in any rush to move his clubs out of NPSL and into USL.

I hate to say it, but I could also see NextPro as a viable destination for the Bobcats.

MLS NP severely limits revenue growth (e.g. since sponsorships always go to the 1st Team ). Therefore, MLS NP always need massive subsidies from a MLS first team. But it's difficult to see DC United switching from Loudon to Bobcats (Loudon is likely revenue neutral at least) as long as the 1st team is floundering and still searching for a better soccer specific stadium for itself.....

I actually meant as an independent. I could see Bobcats being in NP, and getting gains from a broader assortment of opponents, and arguably lower travel costs (compared to NISA)

That's a good point --MLS NP may be a bigger threat to NISA than it is to USL League One. We wish Kartik has the chance to run this issue by the NISA Commissioner!
