It really is a shame that the Championship game is so early. On the other hand, I'll plan lunch around it and then have most of the day after. I think RI has more to offer in attack than gets attention. Heriveaux and Holstad cause issues in meaningful ways, in addition to Fuson and JJ (not to mention Dikwa). My biggest concern for RI is the altitude. 6000 feet is no joke when you have to run so much, and it can also lead to errant passes (ball travels faster/farther).

On keeper of the year, my pick would have been Ribeiro. Second would be Vitiello, and third would have been Koke Vegas. Dick is excellent, but would he be the same in a different system?

Any chance that the Rowdies would take another look at Sparrow for keeper?

For Coach of the year, I think it should have been Sanchez. He did an incredible job. And then I might have been to Khano Smith. First year as a HC, taking an expansion team to the Championship game. He's done an incredible job managing the squad, keeping people fresh, and getting the most out of his players.

I do agree Herivaux has allowed Fusion to open his game up along with Zach being able to play both ways. Holstad with that long throw is going to have an added zip at that height, not to mention his presence on corners.

I'm going to be interested given the altitude how RIFC set up. If they set up similar to last week it might be their best tact.

I have not been impressed with the 'winners' of the awards. Probably best for me to leave it there.

As for Sparrow, only if his 'MLS only' pride has been beaten having not done a thing this year.

Can you elaborate about the "Sparrow-MLS only" thing?

He had offers in USL this year and turned them all down holding out for an MLS gig.

As for the transfer fee on Farr, my guess is between 20-30k. I just don't think DCU was going to offer much.

I would like to think he'll find his way back to USLC. A year off at 30 isn't a career-builder

Too low, my man! Recent transfers from the USL have been "six figures", "record breaking", etc. 20-30K might have been true before the pandemic. Other USL-C teams --not to mention many other MLS teams- would have snapped him up for amounts that low. There is a lot more money flowing into the USL and MLS ecosystems now.

I just don't believe the figure is anywhere near 6 figures. Either DCU or TBR want to prove me wrong, release the transfer fee.

How much do you reckon the Rowdies got for transferring Jordan Farr to the MLS? I'm guessing it is in the $100-200K range?? We'll get more info once we find out what Farr's new salary on the 2 year contract is but a veteran minimum in the MLS is about 100K per year.....

I'm guessing college football is the main competition for Saturday afternoon slots... Big money there.

My issue isn't college football. It's a Saturday in the fall... that's expected.

My bigger issue is knowing what the kickoff times could be on the West Coast and what their competition ended up being.

Well and about 25 after that the Premier League on NBC.

At least the fans are going to show up. That was my biggest worry with a 10 am local kick.
