Johnathan is under valuing that there was action. USL actually went on record and voted for ProRel, which is a huge action. You mentioned the 2023 meeting in Colorado Springs, and if honest seemed like it was lip service at that time.
There are three things that USL is doing at this time.
1. The FIFA calendar (USL Super League)
2. Creating Division One
3. And actual Vote where 90% approved!
Add in that KK and others have mentioned that don’t be shocked if the Div One is new ownership groups. Which tells me that behind the scenes that there is more than lip service!
One thing that no one talked about is the relationship between US Soccer and USL! And at least on the surface it seems that it is the best it has ever been and the MLS does not have the entire ear of US Soccer. So if it is going to happen. It has to happen since the World Cup is in the United States! Which is why they have to do it at this point!
I think it’s wrong for Johnathan to expect that USL C would be at the level of a DivOne team. Let’s not forget that the level is much higher today than it was 5 years ago!
You cannot expect a USLC team to be at a DivOne level without the investment from the USL.
To compare them to MLS today is like saying MLS today is the same as MLS was when it started!

If MLS goes to fall to spring, that will be a win for USL. The whole summer for themselves and the only soccer.
Johnathan just proved my point on that this is more than lip service! If USL and ProRel fails then you will see USL be adsorbed by MLS.
As someone who is a lower league fan, USL had to make a move or was just going to be picked a part by MLS.
This at least gives USL an opportunity to try to avoid that!
Great show as always
