Three Spots Remain For Final Round of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying
We will have some action this coming Tuesday to fill the quota for the Final Round of World Cup Qualifying.
We are about to finish up the second round of World Cup Qualifying in CONCACAF, as nine of the twelve teams have qualified for the final round, which begins this coming fall in the international windows of September, October, & November.
As of right now, Honduras, Costa Rica, Curacao, Haiti, Nicaragua, Panama, Guatemala, Jamaica, and Suriname have advanced before this coming Tuesday's final matches begin.
In Group A, the second spot is still in play as Cuba has a two point lead over Bermuda. The brilliant thing about the scheduling is that these two sides will battle for that second spot on the table. The match will be played at the Estadio Antonio Maceo at 4:00 PM EDT.
In Group B, Trinidad & Tobago has a two point lead over Grenada, and this is a big moment for the Soca Warriors to make a big push to reach the final round of Qualifying. Grenada, on the other hand, is hungry to make a move to reach their first final round stage in World Cup Qualifying.
These two sides will not face each other for the final spot, as Trinidad & Tobago will travel to face Costa Rica, leading the group, while Grenada is also on the road to face St. Kitts & Nevis. Grenada needs to win while T&T must lose. Trinidad needs a draw to advance.
Finally, in Group F, the second position is up for grabs as El Salvador has a three point lead over Puerto Rico. These two teams won't face each other as they will host their opponents in their stadiums. Goal difference will be at play here.
El Salvador will host Suriname at the Estadio Cuscatlán, while Puerto Rico will host St. Vincent & the Grenadines at the Mayagüez Athletics Stadium. Both matches will start at the same time, at 9:00 PM EDT.

Some of my fellow Puerto Rico supporters have been ready to dress in funeral black and go into mourning after Friday night’s defeat in Suriname. Even a few pundits that I highly respect have been doing the same.
I’ve very defiantly tried to counterbalance as much of that as possible because we are going into the final match day with a chance to escape the group.
Yes, we must defeat St. Vincent & the Grenadines. We’ll be playing at home. I’d much prefer to play that match at Loubriel (but I’ll refrain from airing our the unpleasantries in this setting).
We need Suriname defeat El Salvador in Cuscatlan. Something that they are very capable of doing.
While it’s good to not have to depend on help from others to escape a group, that’s just a reality of life in this sport.
Final match day and PR will still have a chance to advance. Suriname and El Salvador were the favorites to advance.
Nico Cardona, Beto Ydrach and our other players with USL contracts are going to have to continue to come up big for us on Tuesday.
I absolutely refuse to accept elimination until the squad is actually eliminated.
Thanks a lot for the coverage and interest, Sir!
