Western New York native and former Union Omaha GM Peter Marlette, Jr., has announced the formation of Buffalo Pro Soccer – a group that plans to bring a USL Championship club to Buffalo by 2026 through an exclusive partnership with United Soccer League (USL).
This is a fantastic blueprint for launching USL Championship teams in EVERY city or town with a population > 250,000 (Buffalo's is only 275K)! A USL League Two team (or Lague One, if the owners are better funded) that enjoys success and popularity then takes to leap to USL Championship concomitantly with attracting the funding and public support for securing a soccer specific stadium that then ensures long-term logistical and financial stability!
